A thriving market for Spanish gourmet products

The United States is emerging as a primary destination for the export of Spanish gourmet products, and rightfully so. With a population of over 335 million consumers, this market offers a significant opportunity for Spanish producers.

Over the past decade, Spanish exports to the US have increased at an average annual rate of 8.6%. According to data presented by ICEX, this growing demand for Spanish products and the brand España is not only based on traditional products but also on newer and more specialized ones. The top five exported products are led by the olive oil sector, with €473 million, followed by wine (€319 million), and olives (€181 million).

The 2022 Priority Markets Report positions the United States as the main country of commercial interest for the Spanish sector. In the first ten months of 2022, Spain exported food and beverages worth €2.079 billion to this market. The United States has become Spain’s fourth largest global trading partner, surpassing Germany and China as the main non-EU partner.

Opening up the US market to Spanish gourmet products is crucial to capitalize on this growing trend and meet the demand of American consumers seeking high-quality foods, unique flavors, and culinary experiences. AUTENTICA Premium Food Fest stands as the necessary bridge to connect Spanish producers with this booming market, promoting the values of origin, quality, health, and sustainability.

Gastromarketing Day x AUTÉNTICA

There are gastronomy and marketing events, but very few gastronomic marketing events. Aplus Gastromarketing, leading gastronomic marketing agency in collaboration with Auténtica presents a unique congress in Seville; the Gastromarketing Day, whose objective will be to promote the development of marketing related to the gastro world and the food industry.

It must be taken into account that the gastronomic field incorporates a multitude of elements, not only bars or restaurants, but any brand related to food, drinks and services. This is a very broad concept, as it indirectly includes everything related to the product or the dining room experience, but also indirectly touches on health, sustainability, tourism or gastronomic leisure.

Spain is a country in which gastronomy has undergone a great transformation in recent years and this is also reflected in the business management related to companies in the sector. In fact, great professionals from the gastronomy and food industry showed the evolution we are experiencing at the first Gastromarketing Day held in Madrid last February. Large restaurant groups such as La Ancha, Grupo Larrumba and Grupo Lalala and companies such as Grupo Día, Diageo, Mahou, VIPS and Makro took part.

What unites Auténtica and Gastromarketing Day? “AUTÉNTICA is the platform and forum that unites gastronomic knowledge and creativity with scientific and technological market knowledge”. This is where Auténtica and Gastromarketing Day have a common objective; to highlight the evolution of the sector and develop new ways of understanding our gastronomy.

The themes that Gastromarketing Day will address will be: The evolution of the dining room, digitalisation of hospitality businesses, trends in the sector, new gastronomic communication, success stories, figures in catering and hospitality business management and much more.

Discover Seville, the major gastronomic capital of Spain

Seville hosts one of the most representative events of the food and beverage sector. However, the experience does not end at FIBES. The gastonomic summit can be seen, felt and, in short, also experienced in the rest of the city.

Seville is a city known for its good weather, for its impressive monumental and historical heritage, for its cultural agenda, for being the cradle of flamenco, and of course, for its gastronomy.

There is a clear link between Andalusian cuisine and the excellence of the products that serve as raw material for the elaboration of the recipes. It is a place where the most innovative trends that will mark the future of the sector are being developed and materialized. Seville is a model of a sustainable city that combines tradition and innovation, technology and craftsmanship, and where people, visitors and residents, are the center of the city.

Gastronomy

In Seville you eat as you live. Tapas in Seville is a social fact and one of its most essential cultural manifestations. Seville is the culture of oil, oranges, rice, bull meat, Iberian pork, river fish, convent sweets… But the city is also a showcase for exquisitely decorated restaurants with a charming atmosphere that combine excellent 0 km products and local recipes with food and techniques from other territories. Signature cuisine with which a huge quarry of young chefs from Seville are leaving their mark on Spanish gastronomy. The city is passionate about its cuisine and offers plenty to choose from.

Tradition

Defined by its unparalleled historical and artistic heritage, but also by the idiosyncrasy of its neighborhoods, its suggestive gastronomy and its wide cultural offer. Seville is everything you can see, and also everything you can’t see, but you can feel.

Innovation

Marked by its open and multifaceted personality, Seville can boast today of being a pole of attraction for new ideas and trends; the space chosen by institutions, companies, research centers and national and international professionals to reflect on the present and future of the driving sectors of the region’s economy.

Sustainability

An environment with values, in which the well-being of its people and visitors and sustainability understood in the broadest sense of the word, is at the center of the creation of more friendly, livable and inclusive spaces, in which to share that unique way of seeing and living the world that characterizes us.

The new business platform for the retail and mass distribution industry

AUTÉNTICA is a creative space where we bring together brilliant minds, but at the same time deeply curious that, from gastronomy and the food industry, reflect and create together with professionals from other disciplines in the world of health, sports, science, technology, arts, philosophy, politics, music, architecture, communication or nutrition, among others. It is a platform for social reflection, a laboratory for experimentation, a space in which gastronomy and the food industry mingle with other prominent leaders of our society, to contribute to the development of the food industry.

For a few days, Auténtica Premium Food is the space to stimulate the senses, to present all the innovation of products from a perspective of respect for their origin. Rethinking commercial logic away from conventional sales, to convey the essence, history, benefits, impact, environment, health … A unique communication space, with which to associate your product. A space to transfer the value of the products and their essence. To experiment, to propose new ideas through reflection between gastronomy and the different areas of the world of knowledge, to share and create, to enjoy, to communicate and, as a result, to promote a new social awareness of gastronomy and the food and beverage industry.

AUTÉNTICA is Mediterranean diet in its purest form, it is a gastronomic avant-garde, the largest forum for product innovation, a forum for acquiring new skills, a business platform, of course. But only open to those producers, food industry, beverage industry, who seek and propose a new dialogue with the large distribution, retail sector, specialized food stores, chefs, food importers, the Horeca sector or the hospitality industry in general.

We talk about the future, creativity, passion and conversation with other disciplines. A Davos of gastronomy and food that brings a different dialogue, the value of the brand “producer product”, to a new dimension where the denominators are health and pleasure.

AUTÉNTICA is the platform and forum that unites gastronomic knowledge and creativity with scientific, technological and market knowledge. It is the most influential annual professional event for the premium and gourmet food and beverage industry. A true business platform. A Food Festival with exciting moments and food for thought, combining business and innovation, with transgressive conceptual proposals and moments for pure hedonism.
